How to Use a Digital Planner on reMarkable Paper Pure

Plan your business and your life on reMarkable Paper Pure

If you've just got a reMarkable Paper Pure, you can have your digital planner on it and ready to use in under ten minutes. This guide walks you through every step: setting up the tablet, pairing it with your account, uploading your planner, and the monthly, weekly and daily routine I use to run my business and my life.

The Paper Pure replaced the reMarkable 2 in 2026. It feels like writing on paper, with no notifications and no apps pulling you away, which is exactly why it works so well for planning. Everything in this guide also works on the reMarkable 2, Paper Pro and Paper Pro Move.

Key takeaways

  • Pair your Paper Pure at my.remarkable.com with the one-time code shown on the tablet.

  • Your planner arrives as a zip file: open it first, then upload the PDF, never the zip.

  • Upload through the reMarkable web app, the desktop app or your phone. All three sync to the tablet in seconds.

  • Your planner lives in My files, not the Templates menu. That's what keeps every tab and link working.

  • Tap tabs with your finger, write with the Marker. Right-handed? Choose tabs on the left.

  • Plan in this order: month, goals, projects, week, day, then a weekly review.

What you need before you start

  • reMarkable Paper Pure (or reMarkable 2, Paper Pro, Paper Pro Move): the tablet you'll plan on.

  • The Marker or Marker Plus: Paper Pure uses the new Marker. reMarkable 2 Markers don't work with it.

  • A free reMarkable account: needed to pair the tablet and sync files. A Connect subscription is optional.

  • Your Wi-Fi password: the tablet asks for it during setup.

  • Your MY PA digital planner for reMarkable: download it from your order email, or start with the free 2027 planner.

  • A laptop or phone: to download the planner and upload it to your tablet.

Step 1: Set up and pair your Paper Pure

Setup takes about five minutes, and the tablet walks you through most of it.

  1. Charge it and switch it on. Hold the power button until the welcome screen appears.

  2. Choose your language and connect to Wi-Fi. Tap your network and type the password on the on-screen keyboard. If an update starts, let it finish.

  3. Snap the Marker to the side. It attaches magnetically to the right-hand edge, which is how it pairs and charges.

  4. Go to my.remarkable.com on your laptop or phone. Sign up if you're new, or log in if you already have an account.

  5. Click Pair device. Your Paper Pure shows a one-time code. Type it in on the website and the tablet connects. The code expires after a few minutes, so have the website open first.

Already own a reMarkable? You can pair up to five tablets to one account. If you want a clean start, move your old notes into an Archive folder rather than deleting them, because deleting removes them from every device.

Step 2: Download and upload your planner

When you buy the digital planner for reMarkable, you get every layout: weekly and daily, with tabs on the left or the right. They arrive together in one zip file.

  1. Download the zip from your order confirmation page or the link in your email.

  2. Open the zip. On a Mac, double-click it. On Windows, right-click it and choose Extract All. You'll see four planner PDFs.

  3. Choose your layout. Right-handed? Pick tabs on the left, so your writing hand never knocks them. Left-handed? Pick tabs on the right.

  4. Upload the PDF using one of the three ways below. It appears on your Paper Pure within seconds.

  • Web app (nothing to install): my.remarkable.com, open the Web app, go to My files, click Import and choose the PDF.

  • Desktop app (best for uploading several planners at once): open the free reMarkable app on Mac or Windows, click Import, or drag the PDF into the window.

  • Phone (if you bought on your phone): open the PDF, tap Share, then choose Import with reMarkable.

Once it's on your tablet, star it so it always sits at the top of your files.

Why isn't my planner in the Templates menu?

reMarkable doesn't let you add your own templates, so your planner lives in My files as a document. That's actually a good thing. As a document, every tab and link keeps working, so you can jump from a month to your goals to a single day in one tap.

Step 3: Find your way around your planner

A good habit from day one: use your finger to move around and the Marker to write.

  • Jump to a month or section: tap a tab with your finger.

  • Turn the page: swipe left or right with your finger.

  • Write: choose a pen from the toolbar and write with the Marker. A fineliner works well in small boxes.

  • Erase: choose the eraser and rub out, or flip the Marker Plus over. Tap undo if you change your mind.

  • Move something: choose the selection tool, draw around it and drag it. Handy when a task moves to another day.

  • Get more space: pinch to zoom in, write, then pinch back out.

  • Hide the toolbar: tap the round button in the top corner, so it doesn't cover your tabs.

Tabs not opening? Make sure you're tapping with your finger and no pen tool is drawing on the tab.

Step 4: How I plan my month, week and day

A planner only helps if you use it in the same order every time. This is the routine I follow, and each step feeds the next.

  • Start of the month, Monthly calendar (5 mins): add the fixed dates first: launches, client calls, deadlines.

  • Start of the month, Habit tracker (2 mins): choose the habits I want to stick to and tick them off each day.

  • Start of the month, Goals & Actions (10 mins): set one main focus and up to five goals.

  • Start of the month, Project Planner (10 mins): break each goal into projects and tasks.

  • Every Monday, Weekly page (10 mins): regular actions, project tasks for the week, then my top 3.

  • Every morning, Daily section (5 mins): three goals for the day, time blocked into the timeline.

  • Every Friday, Weekly review (10 mins): sales, wins, what worked, what didn't, what I'm grateful for.

Plan your month

I start with the monthly calendar, so I can see what the month already looks like before I add anything else. Then I set one main focus. This month, it's sales. After that come up to five goals, just the key things I want to move forward, not a long wish list. Keeping it to five means I actually get them done.

Plan your week

Each week starts with my regular actions: follow-ups, client calls, content and admin. Then I add the project tasks I want to move forward that week, straight from my monthly goals. From those, I pick my top three.

Plan your day

Each day, I choose three goals that move my week forward and time block them. If it hasn't got a time, it usually doesn't happen. There's also space to track water and exercise, because this is about running your business and your life. Prefer a full page for every day? The daily layout is included with your planner.

Review your week

At the end of the week, I note my sales and new subscribers, my wins, what worked and what didn't. What didn't work goes straight into next week's plan. This is the step that turns a planner from somewhere you write things down into something that runs your business.

Every month also has a marketing and social media planner, a monthly money tracker, an ideas page and a monthly review, so everything is in one place.

Frequently asked questions

Does the planner work on the reMarkable 2 and Paper Pro?

Yes. The planner for reMarkable works on the Paper Pure, reMarkable 2, Paper Pro and Paper Pro Move. You upload it the same way on each.

Do I need a reMarkable Connect subscription?

No. You need a free reMarkable account to pair your tablet and upload files. Connect adds extra features, but your planner works fully without it.

Why won't the reMarkable import my planner?

You're most likely uploading the zip file. Open the zip first, then upload one of the PDFs inside it.

Should I choose tabs on the left or the right?

Right-handed? Choose tabs on the left, so your hand doesn't knock them while you write. Left-handed? Choose tabs on the right. You get both, so you can swap any time.

Can I use the planner as a template?

No. reMarkable doesn't allow your own templates, so the planner sits in My files as a document. That's what keeps the tabs and links working.

Will deleting my old planner remove it from my other tablet?

Yes. Deleting a file removes it from every device on your account. Move old planners into a folder instead if you want to keep them.
